The Medical College is managed by Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Society which has the linguistic minority status (TULU).
Admission Criteria
To be eligible for admission into M.B.B.S course, the candidate should have passed the qualifying examination P.U.C (or 10+2 equivalent examination recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences) having secured not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in P.C.B taken together. (40% in case of SC/ST)
Merit for selection is decided by the entrance examination result where in a minimum of 50% marks are mandatory. However in respect of SC/ST candidates the minimum percentage of marks required is 40% instead of 50%.
Candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission. Candidates from outside Karnataka State must get eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Candidates of minority status should have Tulu speaking certificate from appropriate authorities.
Migration
Migration from one Medical College to another college after admission is generally not permitted and the Medical Council of India is the final authority to permit such change which considers only exceptional situations.
Applications are invited for admission to following courses:
- SDM School of Nursing
Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery: 3 ½ years
Eligibility: PUC / 10+2 with 45% marks in aggregate preferably in P C B
- SDM College of Physiotherapy
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy -4 1/2 years
Eligibility: PUC / 10+2 with 45% aggregate marks in PCB: 40% marks for SC/ST
- Master of Physiotherapy – 2 years
Eligibility: BPT with 50% marks.
- Paramedical Courses
Diploma in X-ray Technician, OT Technician, Lab Technician
Eligibility: PUC / 10+2 with Science graduation
Application form can be obtained either in person or by remitting Rs. 200/- by MO / DD in favour of Dean, SDM College of Medical Sciences & Hospital, Dharwad or download the same from the website. Hostel facilities are available for Boys & Girls.
The applications downloaded from the website are valid only if a DD for Rs. 200/- drawn in favour of Dean, SDM College of Medical Sciences & Hospital, Dharwad is enclosed along with the filled application form.
